Attorney Bradley Holuta: You may be wondering how to avoid winter car accidents.
Prevention starts before you even leave home. Make sure your vehicle has good working tires with adequate tread. You might also consider winter tires for your particular vehicle. You will also want to make sure that you have cleared the snow and ice off your car so that you can see out the windshield and all windows.
Once you are out there on the roadway, remember that snow and ice will lead to reduced traction. It will take a little extra time and space to be able to stop. You want to leave extra space between your vehicle and the other vehicles should you encounter a dangerous situation.
Remember that this time of the year is dark and dreary, which leads to reduced visibility. It is a little harder to see what is out there around you. Be a little extra careful and allow extra time to make sure you get to where you are going safely.
